Pope Francis of the Roman Catholic Church becomes the first Pope to tell the truth about what God is. And God is inclusive if you’re an upstanding human being who does the right thing. This applies to you whether you’re gay or straight.
Pope Francis says the Church has grown “obsessed” with preaching about abortion, gay marriage and contraception, and that he has chosen not to speak of those issues. He says that the church is for all and not a “small chapel” focused on doctrine, orthodoxy and a limited agenda of moral teachings.
In an interview the Italian Jesuit Journal, he states, “It is not necessary to talk about these issues all the time. The dogmatic and moral teachings of the church are not all equivalent. The church’s pastoral ministry cannot be obsessed with the transmission of a disjointed multitude of doctrines to be imposed insistently. We have to find a new balance, otherwise even the moral edifice of the church is likely to fall like a house of cards, losing the freshness and fragrance of the Gospel. A person once asked me, in a provocative manner, if I approved of homosexuality. I replied with another question: ‘Tell me: when God looks at a gay person, does he endorse the existence of this person with love, or reject and condemn this person?’ We must always consider the person.”
It’s a breath of fresh air and we’re finally reaching that point where even the Pope is speaking out positively about gays. This Pope was meant to come in at this time. Many religious people follow the word of the Pope regardless of what he’s saying. So if the Pope is positively speaking about gays, his words have the power to reach masses of people. These are the same naive people that have been looking for an excuse to crucify gays simply because they don’t know what its like to be attracted to someone of the same sex. The Pope is telling these people that they’ve been out of line and that’s not what God is. Of course any thinking person knows this information to be true, but unfortunately there are millions of naive souls who simply don’t know any better. They are the easily led. Well, now they have a great leader running things in the Catholic Church to help bring them out of the final Dark Age.
