Denny Carlson sent out a voice mail to teachers and staff last week regarding the Rolling Stone magazine article that condemns his school for all the teen suicides its created, saying that it “contains a brutal and distorted attack on our school district and staff” and then adding that “this is a vicious insult to all of you that have worked so hard to make this district and community a better place.” Teachers are victims of the “neutrality policy”.
The district also sent out a public statement pretending there aren’t as many critics as actually exist out there, saying, “Three or four highly critical individuals do not represent the many quality administrators and 2,700 highly professional teachers who care deeply about our students and work each day not only to educate them, but also to keep them safe.”
It’s no surprise that the school lies in the district that anti-gay congresswoman Michele Bachmann resides. Her response to the gay bullying notes to her offices was in a form letter on how sorry she is to hear children being belittled and hopes that it will stop. Huh?
She states in her letter, “We all desire to see bullying brought to an end and the best interests of students served in our schools. Again, thank you for your commitment on this matter. I assure you I will continue to be a listening ear for any constituent wishing to express his or her view on this or any other issue.”
She basically meant, “I don’t give a fuck. My hands are tied with more important matters like running for President so I can stop gay marriage.”
